The answers are 8 for the first blank, 16 for the second blank, and 32 for the third blank.

A geometric sequence is a sequence in which each number is multiplied, divided, added, or subtracted by the same number. For this problem, they tell you that the first value is 4, and the last (five) is 64. What you have to do is try to find what number 4 is being multiplied by to eventually equal 64 when x is 5.

Since the value gets high quickly, 4 is being multiplied by something. It’s best to try to guess what the number is and see if it matches up to 64. For example, 1 can’t be a number that 4 is being multiplied by, as that would mean every x-value would have a y-value of 4. If we try 2 though, we can see that it fits the table.
4 x 2 = 8. (meaning that when x is 2, y is 8.)
8 x 2 = 16. (as you can see, all the y-values are being multiplied by the same number.)
16 x 2 = 32. (when x is 4, y is 32.)
And finally, 32 x 2 = 64. (When x is 5, y is 64, which matches up to the graph.
