We're given two points : (-4,7) and (-3,2). To find the distance, we will use the formula :


\star\quad\sf{d=√((x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2)}

where the distance is d.

If we now proceed to put in our values ,


\star\quad\sf{d=√((2-7)^2+(-3-(-4)^2)}

and evaluate ...


\star\quad\sf{d=√(-5^2+(-3+4)^2)}


\star\quad\sf{d=√(25+1^2)}


\star\quad\sf{d=√(25+1)}


\star\quad\sf{d=√(26)}

∴ the distance between the two points is √26.
