The ratio of boys to girls in a class is 7:5. There are 36 students in the class. How many more boys than girls are there?

Explanation:

let 7:5 be 7x and 5x

7x+5x=36

12x=36

x=36÷12

x=3

therefore, 7x= 21

5x= 15

therefore there are 21‐ 15 more boys than girls= 6
