Step by step explanation

Bringing the angles out :

(7y+5)°=(9x+2)°
Reason : Opposite angles at a vertex are equal to each other

Put to the smallest equation
(7y+5)°=(9x+2)°
Open the brackets
7y+5=9x+2
Collect like terms
7y-9x=2-5
7y-9x= -3 ……….. equation 1

(25x+8)° + (9x+2)°= 180°
(7y+5)° + (25x+8)° = 180°
Reason: Angles on a straight line

(25x + 8)° + (9x + 2)°=180°
25x + 8 + 9x + 2= 180°
25x + 9x + 8 + 2 = 180°
34x + 10 = 180°
34x = 180 - 10
34x = 170
X= 170 ➗34
X= 170/34
X=5

Since x=5, we’ll equate it into equation 1

7y-9x=-3……….equation 1

7y-9x= -3
7y -9(5) = -3
7y -45= -3
7y = 45-3
7y = 42
y= 42/7
y = 6

So therefore x =5 , y=6

If you want to go further to find the angles,substitute the answers in the equation and you’ll have the angles
