Answer:

y = -3/2 x + 20

Explanation:

First of all we have to put the equation in this form

y = mx + h

Move 3x to right side of equal by changing its sign

2y = -3x + 14

Divide each number by 2

2/2 y = -3/2 x + 14/2

y = -3/2 x + 7

the slope of the line is -3/2

Two parallel lines have the same slope, so the slope of the line we are searching for is -3/2

Now we can use this formula, that suites for lines that pass for one point with a given slope

y - y of point = slope (x - x of point)

Substitute with the given data

y-8 = -3/2(x-8)

y- 8 = -3/2 x + 24/2

y - 8 = -3/2 x + 12

y = - 3/2 x + 12 + 8

y = -3/2 x + 20
