How did many african american artists of the harlem renaissance feel about the american dream?
Many Black artists during the Harlem Renaissance thought that the American Dream was impossible for everyone to achieve, especially for Black people.
They faced racism, unfair treatment, and few chances which made it hard for them to join in and gain from the American Dream. Even though they were successful artists and had an impact on American culture, they had to deal with being separated, not having much money, and not being able to move up in society.
Because of this, they didn't believe in the American Dream anymore and felt disappointed and upset about the unfair treatment of different races and social injustice. Their art often showed these ideas and criticized the American Dream for not helping minorities or disadvantaged groups.
