If an are of a square is given how to find it's sides

If u are given the area of a square and asked to find the measure of side, then follow this:

We know that area of the square is a² (where a is the lenght of the side)

So we can write it as

Given area=a² and solve the equation created!

Example:

Question:

Given area= 16 cm

Lenght=?

Solution:

According to the question,

16=a²

√16 = a

4 = a

Thus the length of the side will be 4 cm
