I believe your equation 2 is meant to be


0.6x +0 .7y = 0.3

If so then change both equations 1 and 2 to fraction form


(8)/(10) x + (5)/(10) y = (9)/(10)....equation1 \\ (6)/(10) x + (7)/(10) y = (3)/(10)....equation2

Finding the lcm and then solve therefore


x = (24)/(13) and \: y = ( - 25)/(13)
