Solve the equation

solve of y :- 7y + 20 = 6y - 2

  • 7y + 20 = 6y - 2

Subtract 6y from both sides,

  • 7y - 6y + 20 = 6y - 2 - 6y
  • y + 20 = -2

Subtract 20 from both sides,

  • y + 20 - 20 = -2 - 20
  • y = -22

Therefore the value of y is -22.

Verification :

  • 7y + 20 = 6y - 2

Plug value of y,

  • 7(-22) + 20 = 6(-22) - 2
  • -154 + 20 = -132 - 2
  • -134 = -134

Hence verified!
