width = 12 ft

length = 16 ft

Explanation:

Let width = W

length = W + 4

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(L+W)

56 = 2(W+4+W)

56 = 2(2W+4)

56 = 4W + 8

56 - 8 = 4W

48 = 4W

W = 12
