x= 118-74

=44

x+y=106

44+y=106

y=106-44

The value of X= 44
To find x you need 2 values inside the triangle. You can find the 2nd value by subtracting 180-118 which is 62. We’re using 180 because that’s the value of a straight line.
Now that we have 2 values we can add them up and subtract them by 180 because that’s the degree of a triangle so 74+62+x=180. Now that we found x that’s 44 since they are vertical angles (I’m not sure if it’s the right term but they’re across from each other) it means that they have the same value. This is why x= 44.
