Jorge is 6 feet tall and casts a 7-foot shadow. At the same time, a nearby tree has a shadow of 56 feet.

How tall is the tree?

Per six feet: seven feet of shadow are glooming over.

So for the Numerator of 56 feet, the total amount of shadow is unknown representing the denominator.

Now we can set up a proportion...

6/7=56/x ... Now cross multiply...

392=6x ... Now divide on both sides by six

Our variable now gives us ...65.333...

our decimal converting to 1/3 giving us our answer of 65 1/3 ft
