Answer:

Explanation:

S1: 2X+2Y = -4

S2: 3X+8Y = 9

Multiply S1 by 3 and S2 by 2. Resulting S1 and S2 will be

S1: 6X+6Y = -12

S2: 6X+16Y= 18

Subtract S2 from S1

-10 Y = -30

Y= (-30/-10) = 3

Put this Value of Y in either S1 or S2 to get Value of X. I am using S2. You can use S1 as well. Answer will be same

3X+8(3) = 9

3X = 9-24

X=(-15)/3

X=-5
