f(x) = - x - 5
g(x) = 2x ^ 2 - 6x - 3

Answer: -10

Explanation:

What the question is asking; is to find f of g; when the x in g is replaced with a 1; as f(g(1)) states. (the 1 is in the g)

We can start by placing x in the equation of g.

g(x)=(2*1)^2-(6*1)-3

g(x)=4-6-3

g(x)=-5

Now that we have g(x) as 5, we can plug this into f(x). This works ONLY when x is 1, in the eq for G.

f(x)=-5-5

f(x)=-10.
