Answer: mass= # of neutrons + # of protons

# of neutrons = mass - # of protons

Explanation: The mass of an atom is found by adding the number of protons with the number of neutrons in the nucleus. Each proton and neutron has a mass of 1 amu. The mass of electrons is negligible.
