First find what x means. Then once you find what x means.

Example:

Let’s say x = 4

First write out you’re answer.

(3x + 28) + (5x - 8)

Then replace the x with whatever it equals, in this case 4. Make sure your times it once to bring it down.

(3 x 4 + 28) + (5 x 4 - 8)

Next solve.

(12 + 28) + (5 x 4 - 8)

(40) + (5 x 4 - 8)

(40) + (20 - 8)

(40) + (12)

52

You’re answer should be 52, please correct me if I’m wrong.
