An exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the two remote interior angles. (Remote referring to the farthest angles from the exterior angle) 2a = (a+10) + 44. Combine like terms.

2a = a+ 54. Subtract “a” from both sides.

a= 54

You can check for correctness by plugging in 54 for a. 2(54) = (54+ 10) + 44. 108= 108.

(Remember, the exterior angle should equal the sum of the two remote interior angles)
