Answer: 5

Explanation:

x+3x−2=18

x+3x+−2=18

(x+3x)+(−2)=18(Combine Like Terms)

4x+−2=18

4x−2=18

Step 2: Add 2 to both sides.

4x−2+2=18+2

4x=20

Step 3: Divide both sides by 4.

x=5
