8) Megan is buying paper cups and plates for a party.

Cups come in packages of 10 and plates come in packages
of 16. She wants to buy the same number of cups and
plates, but plans to buy the least number of packages

Answer:

10 = 2 × 5

16 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2

LCM of 10 and 16 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 5 = 80

Megan should buy 80/10 = 8 packages of paper cups and 80/16 = 5 packages of paper plates.
