When subtracting off a positive, it's the same as adding a negative.

For example, 20-7 = 20 + (-7) = 13

When we subtract a negative, the negative signs cancel out to make a positive.

Example: 2 - (-4) = 2 + 4 = 6

Here are the answers

a. -2/3 + (-1/2)

b. -3.5 + (-6.7)

c. -7/10 + 2/3
