What is the black death?
The Black Death stands as one of history's most catastrophic pandemics, chiefly prevalent in Europe from 1347 to 1351. It was triggered by the bacterium Yersinia pestis, mainly transmitted through fleas infesting rats. This illness swiftly disseminated, causing extensive outbreaks of bubonic, pneumonic, and septicemic plague.
The outbreak of the Black Death caused catastrophic consequences, leading to the deaths of millions of people across Europe.
