The Little Drummer By Ray Bradbury
Chunking for Main Idea
Directions: Below you will find numbers such as 1-3. This indicates which paragraphs you will be chunking (summarizing). For each group of paragraphs from the story you will read them and then put them into your own words. Each paragraph should be chunked/reduced/summarized into 1 to 2 sentences each. Therefore, if you have 3 paragraphs to chunk there should be a minimum of 3 sentences with a maximum of 6 sentences. The purpose is to retell the story in a shorter form without compromising important details.
