Not sure if I understood your problem correctly, but I interpreted it as this:

[-42 / (-7)2 - (-2)] • (-10) + 10

Step 1: [-42 / -14 +2] • -10 +10

Step 2: [3+2] • -10 +10

Step 3:[5] • -10 + 10

Step 4:-50 + 10

Answer: -40

*notes on how to do this*

-always start with braces, brackets, and parentheses- { [ () ] } ; parentheses first

-solve division/multiplication problems first; if you have multiple solve left to right. Again parentheses are priority so in this problem you do (-7)2 first despite that rule.

-then solve addition/ subtraction problems left to right.

-don’t forget the signs and how they work when adding/ subtracting and multiplying/ dividing.
Add and subtract the sign is kept depending on the larger number (ie -75+32 = -43; -1- -3=2).
Multiply and divide 2 negatives and positives make a positive. 1 neg and 1 pos equals a negative (ie -2•5= 10; -4•-4=16)
