∠ 1 = 46°

Explanation:

∠ PQS is formed by ∠ PQR and ∠ SQR , that is

∠ PQR + ∠ SQR = ∠ PQS

∠ 2 + ∠ 1 = ∠ PQS ( substitute values )

99° + ∠ 1 = 145° ( subtract 99° from both sides )

∠ 1 = 145° - 99° = 46°
