x= width

2x-2 = the length

P = 2(x+2x-2)=2(3x+2)=6x-4

perimeter = 62 feet

we write the equation: 6x-4=62

6x=62+4

6x=66

x=11feet

calculate the length:

2*11-2=20 feet

the width of the rectangle is 11 feet and the length is 20 feet.
