let's firstly convert all the mixed fractions to improper fractions and then add them all up.

\stackrel{mixed}{5(1)/(8)}\implies \cfrac{5\cdot 8+1}{8}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{41}{8}}~\hfill \stackrel{mixed}{14(3)/(4)} \implies \cfrac{14\cdot 4+3}{4} \implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{59}{4}} \\\\\\ \stackrel{mixed}{12(1)/(2)}\implies \cfrac{12\cdot 2+1}{2}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{25}{2}} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill

5(1)/(8)+6+5(1)/(8)+14(3)/(4) + 12(1)/(2) + 14(3)/(4)\implies \cfrac{41}{8}+6+\cfrac{41}{8}+\cfrac{59}{4}+\cfrac{25}{2}+\cfrac{59}{4} \\\\\\ \cfrac{41}{8}+\cfrac{6}{1}+\cfrac{41}{8}+\cfrac{59}{4}+\cfrac{25}{2}+\cfrac{59}{4}\implies \cfrac{(1)41+(8)6+(1)41+(2)59+(4)25+(2)59}{\underset{\textit{using this LCD}}{8}} \\\\\\ \cfrac{41+48+41+118+100+118}{8}\implies \cfrac{466}{8}\implies \cfrac{233}{4}\implies {\Large \begin{array}{llll} 58(1)/(4) \end{array}}

58.25 feet or 56 9/4 feet

We want to add all of the sides together. First convert all measurements to fractions with a common denominator. In this case, we’ll use 8.
We can first add all of the whole numbers together:
5 + 6 + 5 + 14 + 14 + 12 = 56 feet.
Next we’ll add the fractions together. Since we are using a common denominator of 8, we don’t need to change the top left and right fractions.
For 3/4, multiply the denominator and numerator by 2 to get 6/8.
The remaining fraction from the bottom is 1/2. Multiply the numerator and denominator by 4 and you get 4/8. Now they have common denominators and can be added easier.

1/8 + 1/8 + 6/8 + 6/8 + 4/8 = 18/8, which simplifies to 9/4 or 2.25.

Finally, add this to the value from adding the whole numbers. You can write it two ways:
56 + 2.25 = 58.25 feet
or
56 + 9/4 = 56 9/4 feet
