A passenger train traveled 60 miles per hour for 3 1/2 hours and then increased its speed by 15 miles per hour for the next 2 hours. What was the total distance the train traveled? Use the formula D = rt.

Distance for 3 1/2 hours : D= 60x3.5 = 210 (miles)
Distance for the next 2 hours : D = 75x2=150 (miles)
Total distance the train traveled is
210 + 150 = 360 miles
