I say sometimes because the line crosses over x axis twice but only once over the y axis for it to be a function. A function is an equation that has only one answer for y for every x .A function relates an input to an output. One easier and faster way to know if it is a function is to see if there is two of the same x-intercept that will make a vertical line. If there is, then IT'S NOT a function.
