Given:

Length = 8 cm

Breadth = 6 cm

The initial area of the rectangle is:

Area = Length × Breadth = 8 cm × 6 cm = 48 square cm

Now, when the length is doubled and the breadth remains the same:

New Length = 2 × 8 cm = 16 cm

Breadth = 6 cm (remains the same)

The new area of the rectangle is:

New Area = New Length × Breadth = 16 cm × 6 cm = 96 square cm

So, when the length is doubled and the breadth remains the same, the area of the rectangle becomes 96 square cm.

Hope this helps.
