A group has 5 members. Their names are Peter, Jack, Jason, Paul and James. Their occupations are doctor, teacher, engineer, lawyer and pilot, but not necessarily in same order. They live in different cities , Miami, Seattle, New York, Paris and Washington, not necessarily in the same order. The following information is also known: -Peter is wearing a red t-shirt. He is not from New York or Paris. -Jason is a doctor. His t-shirt is not of yellow colour and he is not from Seattle. -Paul and James are wearing the yellow and green t-shirts, not necessarily in that order. -Jack is a lawyer. He is from Washington. - Paul and James are from Paris and Seattle, not necessarily in that order. -The person from New York is wearing a blue t-shirt and the Parisian is wearing a green t-shirt. -The person from Miami is a pilot and that from Seattle is an engineer. One of them is wearing the yellow t-shirt. Jason is from (A). Seattle (B). Paris (C). New York (D) Washington

Final answer:

Using the process of elimination based on the provided clues, Jason cannot be from Seattle, New York, or Miami, and the remaining city for Jason is Paris, as that is the only city unaccounted for in the information given.

Step-by-step explanation:

The answer to where Jason is from can be deduced through the process of elimination using the information provided. First, we know that Jack is a lawyer from Washington, and neither Jack nor Jason can be the pilot from Miami. Furthermore, Jason is a doctor who is not from Seattle and doesn't wear a yellow t-shirt, leaving New York or Paris as the possible cities he could be from. However, the doctor's shirt isn't yellow, and the person from Seattle is an engineer. Since Paul and James are from Paris and Seattle and one wears a yellow t-shirt, it's clear that the engineer from Seattle is not Jason, because James or Paul must be the engineer from Seattle, wearing the yellow t-shirt. Hence, Jason cannot be from Seattle or Miami, and he is not from New York as that person wears blue, which doesn't conflict with his non-yellow shirt. Therefore, the only remaining city for Jason is Paris, as the Parisian wears a green t-shirt, and Jason's t-shirt isn't yellow. With green and yellow being the only restricted colors for Jason, as long as his t-shirt is not yellow, he can still be from Paris.
