Angles 1 and 2 are complementary angles. These types of angles add to 90 degrees. They form a corner.

(angle1) + (angle2) = 90

(3x+10) + (11x-4) = 90

14x+6 = 90

14x = 90-6

14x = 84

x = 84/14

x = 6

Use this value of x to determine the measures of angles 1 and 2.

  • angle1 = 3x+10 = 3*6+10 = 28 degrees
  • angle2 = 11x-4 = 11*6-4 = 62 degrees

As a check, adding those angles gets us 28+62 = 90, which confirms we have the correct angle values.
