16, 9, 2, –5, find the next term of the sequnce

Answer:

16-9=7

9-2=7

2-7=-5

-5-7=-12

there is a difference of 7 between each pair of consecutive terms. each 7 is subtracted from the previous number

if we follow we remove 7 from -5: -5-7=-12

the next term = -12
