Explanation:

Factor out 2

2(2 \sin {}^(2) (x) + \cos {}^(2) (x) ) = 3

2 \sin {}^(2) (x) + \cos {}^(2) (x) = 1.5

2 \sin {}^(2) (x) + (1 - \sin {}^(2) (x) ) = 1.5

\sin {}^(2) (x) = 0.5

\sin(x) = (1)/( √(2) ) = ( √(2) )/(2)

or

\sin(x) = - ( √(2) )/(2)

We get

x = (\pi)/(4)

x = (3\pi)/(4)

x = (5\pi)/(4)

x = (7\pi)/(4)
