The angle of elevation to the top of a tall building is found to be 10° from the ground at a distance of 0.8 mile from the base of the building. using this information, find the height of the building.

\tan(10^o )=\cfrac{\stackrel{opposite}{h}}{\underset{adjacent}{0.8}} \implies 0.8\tan(10^o)=h \implies \stackrel{ miles }{0.14}\approx h

Make sure your calculator is in Degree mode.
