6x² - 6x - 12

= 6x² - ( 12 - 6 )x - 12

= 6x² - 12x + 6x - 12

= 6x ( x -2 ) + 6 ( x - 2 )

= (6x + 6) (x -2)

6x + 6 =

x = -1

x-2 =

x = 2

Answer:

6x²-6x-12=

6(x²-x-2)

we write -x as a difference: 6(x²+x-2x-2)

we factorize: 6[x(x+1)-2x-2]

we factor -2: 6[x(x+1)-2(x+1)]

we factorize: (x+1)(6x-2)
