S = π × ( R + r ) × a

a= apothem

we apply pythagoras to calculate a

a²=48²+(30-10²) = 2704

a=√2704=52

The area of the lateral surface of the truncated cone with radii 30 and 10 and height 48 = π*(30+10)*52 =

fπ*40*52=2080ft=6531.2cm² (for π=3.14)
