If4 is added to a half of anumber, the result is equal to 8 what is the number

We have:
$4+0.5x=8. Isolating the
x term, we subtract
4 from each side and get
0.5x=4. We multiply each side by
2 and get
x=8.

Substituting back into the statement, we get:

Half of
8 is
4.


4+4 is
