Q = 100 - 2P What price would you charge

Reading the question, here is what I think the variables mean:

P = Price and Q = Quantity


So we are trying to figure out the price. Thus, we have to isolate P from the rest. Here’s my work:

1) I started off with subtracting 100 from both sides. Q - 100 = -2P
2) I divided the -2 from both sides to get P alone. (Q - 100) ÷ -2 = P

That’s all! Now you can just enter the quantity and you’ll find the price using that equation.


Answer: (Q - 100) ÷ -2 = P
