Given :

  • A triangle with hypotenuse = 5mm & angle measuring 90° & 29°

To find :

  • The base of the triangle

Solution :

Using the law of sines,

  • (a)/( \sin A) = (b)/( \sin B ) \\

where ,

  • a = x
  • Sin A = 29°
  • b = 5mm
  • Sin B = 90°

putting the values ,

  • (x)/( \sin(29) ) = (5mm)/( \sin(90) ) \\

  • (x)/( 0.49 ) = (5mm)/( 1) \\

  • x = 5mm * 0.49

  • x = 2.45mm

Therefore, the value of x would be equal to 2.45mm.
