a.

The type of quadrilaterals in the figure are :

  • rectangle ( AEGH,ABFE,CDFE,ABDC,BFGH)
  • pllgm (CLEG,DKFE)
  • Rhombus (LMNO)
  • Trapezoid (CLFG,DKEL,CDKG)

b .

To differentiate between a quadrilateral and a parallelogram, we need to know the properties of a pllgm

  • A parallelogram has all of it's opposite side parallel and equal.
  • A parallelogram's opposite angles are equal.
  • A parallelogram can be classified into three types : a rhombus, a square and a rectangle.
  • A rectangle has 2 pairs of equal sides and it's each angle measures 90°
  • A square is a rectangle with all the sides equal.
  • A rhombus is a pllgm with all of it's sides equal and the diagonals form an angle of 90° .
