First take 0.5p to the other side

The equation is

0.2p = -2

P = -10

Answer:

p = -10

Explanation:

1. This could be a bit confusing since there are decimals involved however it is solved like any other equation, however if it helps you you can always multiple every term by 10 to make it 20 + 5p = 3p then work it out like normal

2. Working this out with decimals would be something like this

2 + 0.5p = 0.3p

2 + 0.2p = 0 (0.5 - 0.3 = 0.2)

0.2p = -2

p = -10 (since we want to find the value of a whole p we need to multiply 0.2 by 5 to get to 1)
