Animal migration is the relatively long-distance movement of individual animals, usually on a seasonal basis. It is the most common form of migration in ecology. It is found in all major animal groups, including birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and crustaceans

Animals migrate looking for new sources of food & water. Most of the larger animals live on the continent of Africa. They also migrate to warmer climates in winter like birds. Humpback wales migrate south in the Pacific Ocean to give birth to their babies, then later when their calves are stronger, migrate north up the coast. These migrations happen because animals are looking for food, water, or warmer climates etc. animals will travel long distances in search for these things. Also they will remember the routes they have taken in the past. It is almost instinctual.
