surface area of base + surface area of lateral (side) surface

area of base ( circle ) = πr² ( r is the radius )

lateral area = πrl ( l is the slant height )

total surface area = πr² + πrl

here r = 8 and l = 14 , then

surface area

= π × 8² + (π × 8 × 14)

= 64π + 112π

= 176π units²
