Answer: The Respiration process includes the transfer of oxygen from the outside environment which is done through the act of breathing to cells within tissues, as well as the removal of carbon dioxide in the opposite way,

Explanation: There are two main steps which include inspiration and expiration.

Inspiration includes the process of taking air rich in oxygen from the atmosphere. During this time the ribs are lifted up and diaphragm flattened, this increases the volume of thoracic cavity. This helps in the inhale of oxygen.

Expiration is the process of breathing out of carbon dioxide. During expiration, ribs move downward and inward to its original position and diaphragm moves upward back to its dome shaped. So that the volume of thoracic cavity decreases. This pumps out the carbon dioxide to the atmosphere from the lungs.
