Answer: The mean of the numbers 18, 24, 26, and 30 is 24.5. The median is 25. The range is 12.

Explanation:

To find the mean you add up all of the numbers and divide by the total number of numbers.

18+24+26+30=98

98/4 = 24.5

The median is the middle number when the numbers are arranged in ascending order. In this case, the middle numbers are 24 and 26 therefore the median is the number in between the both of them. The median is 25.

The range is calculated by subtracting the smallest number (18) from the largest (30) number.

30 - 18 = 12.

The mean is the sum of all the data values divided by how many there are. For example, the mean of 18, 24, 26, 30 is (18 + 24 + 26 + 30) / 4:

\cfrac{18+24+26+30}{4}

\cfrac{98}{4}

24.5 | mean |

The median is the middle number.

Before finding the median, make sure that your data is arranged in ascending order, i.e., from least to greatest.

Luckily, it is. We will now find the median. When we have 2 middle numbers, we find their mean. Such is the case here, we have 2 middle numbers, which are 24 and 26.

\cfrac{24+26}{2}=\cfrac{50}{2}=25

median: 25

Now the range is calculated this way:

\textsf{Largest Number - Smallest Number = Range}

\textsf{30 - 18 = Range}

\textsf{12 = Range}

Answers:
