I’m unsure what you mean by one unit to the left. If you’re meaning to change the problem to only shift to the left by one unit, it would be y=|1/2x+1|+3

- The fact that 1/2 is within the brackets means it’s horizontal stretch/compression. Because it’s between 0 and 1, it’s a stretch.

- the -2 in the brackets means that it should be shifted horizontally
