THE DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY DOES NOT HOLD TRUE FOR BINOMIALS.
When multiplying binomials (or other polynomials), you will have to use a different method, not the distributive property that you guys may be used to. This property clearly states that a(b + c)=ab + ac, and it can also be applied this way: a(b + c + d) = ab + ac + ad, etc. However, it only holds true for that scenario in which you're multiplying or "distributing" a monomial (it could be an integer, a variable, or a term) by a polynomial. When multiplying a binomial by a binomial, we use a method called FOIL, so we foil the binomials.
