Using a graphical method, solve the simultaneous equations
y = 2x + 2
and
y=-x-4

Explanation:

To work out the answer graphically, plot the graphs which i have attached in the screenshot below.

The red is the equation
y=2x+2 and blue is the equation
y=-x-4.

When working out the values which satisfy the equations, we look at the point of intersection (the point where the two graphs meet). I labelled it in green giving our coordinates.

As you can see in the coordinates the x value is -2, but also the y value is also -2. This gives the answer
x=-2 and
y=-2 .
