Answer:

Square area 20m side = 20²=400m²

Circle area = 400m²

A circle =pi*r²

400=pi*r²

r²=400/ft approx.127.388..=127.4

r=V127.4about 11.287..=11.3m

diameter diameter of a circular playground when the area of the ground is equal to the area of a square with sides of 20 m = 11.3*2=22.6 m

Answer:

d = 22.568m

or nearest tenth = 22.6m

Explanation:

area of a square = a^2

side = 20m

area of square = 20^2

area = 400

area of a circle = pi(r^2)

in this case, area of the circle is equivalent to area of the square

400 = pi(r^2)

400/pi = r^2

sqrt (400/pi) = r

r = 11.284

diameter = 2(r)

2(r) = 22.568

d = 22.568m
