To demonstrate that iron is a good conductor of heat while wood is a bad conductor, you can use a simple setup. You'll need an iron rod, a wooden rod, two beakers of hot water, and a thermometer. Place one end of the iron rod in one beaker of hot water and the other end in the second beaker of hot water. Do the same with the wooden rod. Use the thermometer to measure the temperature of the water in both beakers. You'll notice that the temperature of the water in the beakers connected by the iron rod will increase much faster than the water in the beakers connected by the wooden rod. This happens because iron is a good conductor of heat, so it transfers heat quickly from one end to the other.
